There is no such thing as bad weather for children: Whether it rains or storms has no influence on the little rascals’ natural urge to move. Mud pants have proven their worth so that they stay dry even when playing outdoors on wet days.

Playing in the sandpit, whizzing through puddles, digging in the mud: small children enjoy the playground even in bad weather. So that your clothes stay dry even when it rains and they don’t get cold on cold days, mud pants are the ideal companion: They are wind- and waterproof, durable and warming (if you choose a lined version). The integrated suspenders and rubber straps, which are attached under the feet, are particularly practical – they do not slip while playing. What else you should pay attention to when buying is summarized below.

These are the most important purchase criteria

  • Mud pants can grow with your children, so you should choose one size larger – the suspenders allow every model to be adapted to the body. Especially since you have to plan more space for the rubber boots, over which you will later pull the foot straps over them.
  • Make sure that the materials are waterproof (from a water column of 1500 mm, otherwise the protection only applies for a short time) and that the seams are firmly welded – this is the only way to be sure that your child’s normal clothing stays dry even in wind and rain .
  • According to Eco test many mud pants for children are contaminated with harmful substances. To ensure that manufacturers do not use PFCs for impregnation, you should refer to a “Oeko-Tex Standard 100“Value certification (class 1) or the seal of a specialist institute.
  • Last but not least, when buying, you can also make sure that the mud pants for children are machine washable – so that they can be cleaned thoroughly every now and then. With regular use, the material can become very dirty and should therefore be washable.
