The nominations for the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards have been announced. British superstar Harry Styles tops the list.

Harry Styles (28) is considered the new idol of pop music. Those responsible behind the MTV Europe Music Awards 2022 have now acknowledged this accordingly and given the British singer seven nominations. The broadcaster this Wednesday (October 12) the list published with all nominees, which Styles leads with his nominations. The musician was honored in the categories “Best Artist”, “Best Song” and “Best Video”, among others.

The US singer Taylor Swift (32) follows the musician with six nominations and is also named in the categories “Best Artist” and “Best Video”. US rapper Nicki Minaj (39) and Spanish singer Rosalía (30) have each received five nominations, both competing for the titles “Best Artist” and “Best Song”. In the category “Best German Act” Kontra K (35), Leony (25), Nina Chuba (23), Badmómzjay (20) and the band Giant Rooks are nominated. Fans can now vote online.

The MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) will be presented this year in Düsseldorf in the PSD Bank Dome. This is the sixth time that the award ceremony has been held in Germany. On November 13, the MTV EMAs will be broadcast live to more than 170 countries, with performances by top-class stars planned as always.

The MTV EMAs were first held in Germany in 1994, more precisely in Berlin. In 2009, the award ceremony was again moved to the capital. In 2007 it was Munich’s turn, in 2001 and 2012 Frankfurt. In 2021, the MTV Europe Music Awards were broadcast live from Hungary.
