MP Thomas Portes expelled 15 days from the National Assembly after a controversial tweet

Friday, the National Assembly excluded for 15 days the deputy LFI Thomas Portes, author of a controversial tweet on Olivier Dussopt which angered the presidential majority in the hemicycle.

Under the protests of the rebellious, the deputies voted by a seated-standing vote, after a meeting of the office of the Assembly which had proposed this sanction. This is the most severe disciplinary sanction for MPs. The “censorship with temporary exclusion”, the most severe disciplinary penalty for deputies, entails a ban on appearing at the Palais-Bourbon for fifteen sitting days, and the deprivation of half of the parliamentary allowance for two months.

The debates on the pension reform must resume in the evening.
