Motorway ring Munich: Expansion of the A 99 continues – district of Munich

During the night of Friday, March 3rd, traffic in the area between Aschheim and Kirchheim will be diverted to the east bypass of the A99. From Friday onwards, traffic will then flow completely on the road in a total of six lanes in the direction of Lindau/Nuremberg. Parallel to this, the widening of the autobahn begins on the road in the direction of Salzburg. In this section, the A 99 will be widened to eight lanes. This section should be completed by the end of the year.

In 2024, the oncoming lane will be widened to four lanes. On Friday, the newly built bridge on Erdinger Strasse over the A 99 between Kirchheim and Aschheim will be opened to traffic. According to Autobahn GmbH, local public transport buses will be able to pass through Erdinger Straße again from Monday, March 6th. As part of the reopening of Erdinger Strasse, the motorway underpass on Weidachstrasse will also be closed for the necessary expansion work. The expansion of the A 99 is accompanied by numerous noise protection measures.
