More than 4 million euros to help businesses in disaster-stricken valleys

To supplement the emergency aid measures for companies affected by storm Alex in October 2020, which killed eighteen people, a support fund was set up at the start of the year by the State, the Paca region, the Alpes-Maritimes department, the Nice Côte d’Azur metropolis and the French Riviera urban community. In total, 4.5 million euros will be used to support economic players in the Roya, Tinée and Vésubie valleys.

Direct aid in the form of a grant of up to 100,000 euros

This fund, materialized in the form of a direct subsidy of a maximum of 100,000 euros, will help companies, craftsmen, liberal professions, self-employed people and farmers to “reconstitute their working tool”. “Equipment and furniture, stocks, machine tools, vehicles and construction machinery but also land, buildings and warehouses destroyed” were given as an example in a press release from the prefecture. Rebound and retraining costs can also be financed by this fund under certain conditions.

Operational from this Friday, this aid can be requested directly in line “until December 31, 2023 unless the fund runs out and the site closes”.
