More needs to be invested in geothermal energy – economy

A new type of geothermal power plant is being built near Munich that could become a role model for the whole of Germany. What has been missing so far, however, are clear signals from politics – and more funding.

A huge potential for the energy transition lies dormant in the warmth from below. It can be used primarily for heating, but also to generate electricity and does not cause any harmful greenhouse gases. In addition, it is a reliable source of energy that, unlike wind and solar power, can deliver constantly around the clock. It doesn’t get any better than that.
