Mohamed Salah voted best Premier League player by English journalists

An Egyptian in front of a Belgian and an Englishman. This is the podium of the best Premier League players chosen by a jury of British journalists. Elected for the second time, Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah won 48% of the vote, ahead of Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne and West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

Current top scorer (22 goals) and best passer (13) in the championship, Salah is one of the great architects of his club’s current success, in the race to achieve a fabulous quadruple (Coupe de la Ligue, FA Cup, Champions League and English Championship). In all competitions, the 29-year-old striker, under contract with the Reds until June 2023, has already scored 30 goals.

40% of voters for Sam Kerr

Among the women, the English journalists rewarded Sam Kerr. The Australian striker scored 18 goals, helping her club Chelsea to dominate the Super League. With 40% of the votes, she is ahead of the Dutch international from Arsenal Vivianne Miedema and the Englishman from Manchester City Lauren Hemp.

Salah and Kerr will receive their awards at the Footballers of the Year dinner in London on May 5.
