The Mittelland Canal near Bramsche has been completely closed since Saturday afternoon. For reasons that have not yet been explained, a barge and a pleasure craft collided.

Update, May 20, 8 p.m.: Bramsche – After colliding with an inland waterway vessel, the crashed pleasure craft could be recovered from the Mittelland Canal near Bramsche with the help of divers and an air cushion boat. The waterway was reopened on Saturday afternoon.

First report, May 20, 4 p.m.: Bramsche – Due to a ship accident, the Mittelland Canal near Bramsche (Lower Saxony, district of Osnabrück) was completely closed on Saturday. An unloaded inland freighter and a pleasure craft collided there on Saturday, the police said. The 7 meter long sports boat sank.

The two drivers of the boat (71 and 15 years old) were able to save themselves on land. Your boat sank in the middle of the canal. The two men were treated by paramedics and taken to a hospital. The unloaded barge has moored about 400 meters away.
