“Men and women are equal.” This simple sentence is at the beginning of the Basic Law in Article 3. The sentence does not call for equality. He manifests them. In 1949 it was inscribed in the set of rules that form the basis of our social coexistence in Germany and whose values are the guidelines for our coexistence. And yet in the year 2021, terms such as diversity and feminism, the underlying concepts of which are precisely aimed at equality, have become polarizing warring terms. This is not only due to the “old white man” who is too often referred to as such and who threatens to become the loser of all modern developments. It is also down to the progressive left, whose understanding of feminism and diversity is becoming more and more misunderstood.
