In the case of the missing eleven-year-old from the Dillingen district, there is a new development. According to a media report, the girl is said to have found accommodation with the “Twelve Tribes” sect.

An eleven-year-old girl went jogging on Saturday afternoon in Holzheim-Eppisburg near Dillingen on the Danube and did not return. At the weekend, the police had looked for the girl with a contingent of around 100 emergency services – but without success.

Now the “Bayerischer Rundfunk” reportsthat the eleven-year-old, who lives with a foster family, could apparently be with her birth parents, who belong to the “Twelve Tribes” sect. A member wrote the foster father an email stating that the child was with the parents and was fine, according to the BR. A spokesman for the Schwaben-Nord police headquarters confirmed the report on Monday morning. The authenticity of the email is now being checked, but no further search measures are planned for the time being.

The sect “Twelve Tribes” had made headlines in the north Swabian district of Donau-Ries, as the community was also accused of violence against children. In September 2013, the police took around 40 children from the communities in Deiningen in Swabia and Wörnitz in Central Franconia because of the allegations against sect members. At that time, the sect announced that it wanted to move to the Czech Republic and other European countries because they felt they were being persecuted by the state in Germany.
