Missing 18-month-old child found asleep in a field



He was found in a field, asleep. The Ille-et-Vilaine gendarmerie had been called three hours earlier to report his disappearance. During the night from Saturday to Sunday, an 18-month-old child escaped the vigilance of his parents and was reported missing in Miniac-sous-Bécherel, north of Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine). The gendarmes explored the surroundings of the family property, helped by neighbors who had been alerted to the disappearance. A helicopter also flew over the area at low altitude. The child was finally found around 1 a.m. in a nearby field. According to West France, he had fallen asleep and was doing very well. A judicial inquiry has been opened.
