The residents are shocked when a Cessna crashes into their front yard. Not so the pilot.

In the southeast of the In the USA, a small plane crashed directly in front of a residential building. The pilot of the Cessna was killed and the only passenger was slightly injured, as the police in Savannah (state of Georgia) announced on X. Nobody was injured on the ground. The US aviation authority FAA is continuing to investigate. The cause of the crash was initially unknown.

Photos showed the rubble just outside the house on 66th Street. According to a report by local broadcaster WTOC, it was a Cessna 336 that was on its way from Miami (Florida) to Savannah on Sunday evening (local time). As the crow flies that’s around 700 kilometers. Savannah is a port city on the Atlantic and, with almost 150,000 residents, the fifth largest city in Georgia.
