Department head Pistorius brings a new spokesman to the Ministry of Defense: the previous one ARD-Journalist Stempfle becomes “head of the information work department”. Predecessor Thiels changes to another position in the ministry.
After the change at the top of the Defense Ministry, there is also a new spokesman: Der ARD-Journalist Michael Stempfle will be “Head of Information Work,” the ministry said. The previous spokesman Christian Thiels, who like Stempfle also from SWR came, according to the information, changes to another position in the ministry.
Thiels was spokesman for the then Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer (CDU) and most recently also for Christine Lambrecht. The SPD politician resigned from office last week after sustained criticism. Her party colleague Boris Pistorius then followed on the post.
“Media professional with a lot of experience”
When ARD-Korrespondent Stempfle reported in particular on internal security issues. Pistorius said he was pleased to have “a well-connected media professional with a lot of experience” for the job.
Stempfle said on Twitter that he was looking forward to working with Pistorius. “There will be no lack of big issues and tasks,” he wrote.
