Miltenberg: No suspects after garbage threat against District Administrator Scherf – Bavaria

A good two weeks after an anonymous letter to the Miltenberg district administrator Jens Marco Scherf (Greens) to dump garbage in front of his house, the police have not yet identified any suspects. “So far, no one has dumped rubbish in front of the district administrator’s house,” said the Aschaffenburg public prosecutor on Wednesday. There are still no clues as to who might be behind the letter. Investigations will continue because of attempted coercion.

Scherf handed the letter over to the police at the end of March and published it on Facebook. The sender, an “action group against extending the collection times for residual waste bins”, was outraged by the collection times for residual waste bins that will apply from summer 2024. The district council had extended this from two to four weeks. According to a spokeswoman for the district office, this is primarily intended to save costs.

According to the Interior Ministry, a total of 267 criminal offenses against municipal officials and elected officials were registered in Bavaria in 2021. These include cases of insult, slander and defamation, but also cases of coercion, threats and blackmail. According to the state parliament Greens, the number had more than doubled compared to the previous year.
