The security situation in Israel and the Palestinian territories remains tense after a wave of terror. According to the Israeli army, a security guard was killed in the West Bank.

According to the Israeli army, a security guard at a settlement was killed in an attack in the occupied West Bank. Two terrorists in a car shot the man at his post at the entrance to the city of Ariel, the military said on Saturday night.

The two attackers fled. Security forces were looking for them. Several roads have been closed. According to Israeli media reports, the attackers are Palestinians.

According to a report by the Palestinian news agency Wafa, a Palestinian was killed in confrontations with Israeli security forces in the town of Asun. The army announced that anti-terrorist activities had taken place in Asun due to the attack. Palestinians threw fire bottles at soldiers there. They then fired sharply. There was a hit.

The security situation in Israel and the Palestinian territories remains tense after a wave of terror. On Friday – the last Friday of the Muslim month of fasting Ramadan – there were renewed confrontations on the Temple Mount (Al-Haram al-Sharif) in Jerusalem, which is holy to Muslims and Jews. Dozens of Palestinians were injured in clashes with Israeli security forces.

Israel conquered the West Bank and East Jerusalem during the 1967 Six-Day War. Around 600,000 Israelis live there today in more than 200 settlements. The UN Security Council in 2016 labeled these settlements a violation of international law and called on Israel to halt all settlement activity. The Palestinians want to set up their own states in the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem.
