Michelle and Barack Obama have landed a new podcast deal. From now on, they will no longer implement future audio content with Spotify.

Michelle, 58, and Barack Obama, 60, and their media company Higher Ground have signed an “exclusive, multi-project, multi-year deal” with Amazon subsidiary Audible. The audio book provider announced this Tuesday in a message known. “The roster of Audible shows will reflect the companies’ shared mission to tell meaningful and entertaining stories that highlight diverse voices and experiences,” it says. The provider, which actually specializes in audio books and radio plays, has had its own podcasts in its program for some time.

“I look forward to working with the team to tell stories that not only entertain but inspire,” said former US President Barack Obama in a statement. His wife added, “Together we will continue to strive to tell compelling, provocative and soulful stories – while doing everything we can to ensure they reach the people who need to hear them.” Exactly which projects are planned has not yet been announced.

The Obamas stand loud “The Hollywood Reporter” thus on a list with stars like Kerry Washington (45), George Clooney (61) or Queen Latifah (52), who have also signed multi-year contracts with Audible. The couple previously had a deal with Spotify and launched the formats Renegades: Born in the USA and The Michelle Obama Podcast, among others. Higher Ground will be releasing some remaining episodes and shows from its Spotify deal in the near future.
