Mental health: When men are fooling themselves

When will our society stop making mental illnesses in men taboo? Many men still only admit to “burnout” at best – and only rarely to depression.

Being burned out is still OK. Burnout also sends a positive message: someone has exerted themselves and shown above-average commitment. But what happens when the stress becomes a real burden? When tasks that were once easily accomplished suddenly seem impossible? Then the feeling of hecticness and constant pressure can make you ill, and unresolved conflicts can lead to psychological problems such as depression and anxiety.
