“For lack of evidence” (Apple TV+)

A gruesome murder rocks the Chicago District Attorney’s Office – Deputy Chief Rusty Sabich suddenly becomes the prime suspect. The eight-part thriller miniseries “Presumed Evidence” starring Jake Gyllenhaal explores obsession, sex, politics, the power and limits of love – with a defendant fighting for his family and his marriage. The series comes from multiple Emmy winners David E. Kelley and JJ Abrams. The star-studded cast also includes Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, Elizabeth Marvel and Peter Sarsgaard. “Presumed Evidence” is now streaming on Apple TV+. Based on the New York Times bestseller of the same name by Scott Turow.

“We Were the Lucky Ones” (Disney+)

The miniseries “We Were the Lucky Ones” tells the incredible true story of a Jewish family that was torn apart at the beginning of World War II. The series follows the family members across continents as they do everything in their power to survive and find each other again. The adaptation, based on Georgia Hunter’s New York Times bestselling novel, illustrates “how the human spirit was able to survive and even thrive even in the darkest moments of the 20th century. The series is a tribute to the triumph of hope and love against all odds,” Disney+ advertises the work. Available there from June 19th.

“Kifaru – The Last White Rhinoceros” (Arte Media Library)

This film has won awards at numerous festivals: The film “Kifaru – The Last White Rhinoceros” shows what the unstoppable extinction of species means. The documentary follows two young Kenyans during their first four years of work as rhino keepers in the Ol Pejeta reserve at the foot of the Mount Kenya massif. They are part of a small group of rangers and ensure the protection and well-being of the last northern white rhinos. Above all, they look after Sudan, the last male of this species. The documentary shows how they accompany him – until his last breath. Now in the Arte media library.
