Monday evening, the national police confided to 20 minutes “Dread the passage of the curfew at 11 pm”. Less than a week later, the fears were confirmed. According to videos posted on social networks, at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday evening, hundreds of people were still gathered on the beaches of Nice, without respecting the curfew, nor social distancing measures and the wearing of masks. A few minutes later, the police dispersed the crowds, said a journalist from France 3 Côte d’Azur present on the spot.

Christian Estrosi reacted through his Twitter account, regretting “these irresponsible behaviors”. The mayor of Nice indicates that he has called on the prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes so that “staff are mobilized to prevent this type of gathering which presents a health risk and could spoil the summer of our traders, restaurateurs and businesses”.
