Today is supposed to be the saddest day of the year. Queen Máxima of the Netherlands explains to her followers what helps her.

Queen Máxima of the Netherlands (50) published a personal message and new photos for “Blue Monday”. “Blue Monday” is considered the most depressing day of the year. This year this should be today’s January 17th. King Willem-Alexander’s (54) wife posted pictures of a walk in the forest with her puppy Mambo.

“Exercise is good for your physical health, but it’s also good for your mental health, especially if you can do it outside. Today, on Blue Monday, I’m going for a long walk. You too?”, she wrote in the tweet. Máxima also refers to an organization that works for mental health. The Queen of the Netherlands has long supported “Mind” and has also drawn attention to how the corona pandemic can affect mental health, especially in children.

Four dogs with the royals

Máxima and Willem-Alexander have three daughters: Princess Catharina-Amalia (18), Princess Alexia (16) and Princess Ariane (14). Puppy Mambo has been living with the royals since October, as they revealed on social media. In addition to Mambo, the family is said to have three other dogs.

The telephone counseling service offers help with depression on the free number: 0800/111 0 111.
