Max Mutzke and the SWR Bigband in the Isarphilharmonie – Munich

Max Mutzke just had the dubious pleasure of moderating the completely failed presentation of the German Jazz Prize in the Bremen Metropoltheater. In the Isar Philharmonic Hall together with Stefan Gwildis, probably the best soul singer in the republic is once again on safe ground. The SWR Big Band gives him the worthy framework for a program tailored to his style: from his own hits like “Can’t wait until tonight” (with which he once became an ESC participant by Stefan Raab’s grace) or “Welt hinter Glas” and From songs from the new album “Wunschlos sucht” to soul and pop classics like “Me & Mrs Jones” or “Empire State of Mind”. On the one hand, he will contribute his jazz background: Even in his youth he was a regular in the relevant clubs, and he often works together with jazz greats such as Wolfgang Haffner and Roberto Di Gioa. On the other hand, his funk past (in the band Project Five) and his outstanding talent as a stage pig.
