Marseille, its port, its schools and its streets are underwater. The heavy rainfall that fell on the city in the wake of the Kirk depression flooded the Old Port, entire streets and caused the closure of thirty schoolsclearly not adapted to receive such quantities of water so suddenly.
This Tuesday, 70 mm of rain in the morning storms, including 50 mm between 7 and 8 a.m., or 50 liters of water per square meter in a few dozen minutes.
This is the second violent rainy episode in the space of a few weeks to leave behind cars underwater, in a scenario however well known to residents. Once again the images are impressive.
