If things continue like this, Markus Braun will probably face several more years in prison. The former Wirecard boss has been in custody since summer 2020. If the court’s latest signals are interpreted correctly, however, this could have been just half of what the former star manager is facing. Theoretically, Braun could go to prison for up to 15 years – and so far it actually seems as if the sentence could be in double figures. Such sentences are very rare in commercial trials.
