Market research – GfK is sold – economy

The Nuremberg market research institute GfK is sold to the larger US competitor NielsenIQ. Five years after the entry of the US financial investor KKR, the majority of the company with 8,000 employees goes to the US investment company Advent International, which holds NielsenIQ. GfK will be valued at around $2.5 billion in the sale, two insiders said. The Nuremberg company GfK is best known for its consumer climate index and the collection of TV ratings and the music charts.
