Sundern (NRW) – Next year should be her year. Wiebke (35) and Marius (40) from Sundern in Sauerland finally wanted to catch up on their church wedding. And go on vacation again. Together with their four children (12, 7, 2, 1).
But nothing will come of it. Marius is dead. He died suddenly this summer. “He was always fit,” says his widow. But because his father had several heart attacks, he had a check-up a year ago. “Everything was fine there…”
► Until July 6th. Marius, who worked as a salesman for photovoltaic systems, came from the construction site. “He suddenly got shoulder pain and put it down to the effort,” said Wiebke.
Marius runs a bath. He gets sick, he throws up. Meanwhile, Wiebke cuddles with her daughter Isabella (2). And falls asleep. She doesn’t wake up until the next morning – and finds her husband dead in the bathroom.
Because Marius died so young and unexpectedly, he was autopsied. “It was a posterior wall infarction,” says Wiebke quietly. “Doctors say his arteries harden up in no time.”
The widow has not yet fully realized the terrible loss. “I still think Marius just went away, will be back soon…”
It’s also difficult financially. Marius had invested her savings in his new business. The funeral? “My stepmother paid for it,” says Wiebke.
The office clerk hopes to find a part-time job. “And when it’s settled, something real. The five of us fight our way through it.”
Her sister Svenja has Gofundme‘ started a call for donations for her. So that she can make ends meet now.
