The cult soap “Neighbors” ends after around 37 years. In the finale, Margot Robbie will be seen in her old role for the last time.

Actress Margot Robbie (32) returns for the grand finale of Australian soap Neighbors. That’s what the makers have on, among other things the official Twitter account announced. Robbie played Donna Freedman from 2008 to 2011. Former cast members Jesse Spencer (43), Delta Goodrem (37), Kym Valentine (45) and Carla Bonner (49) will also appear in the finale.

An unspecified source explained to the British “The Sun”: “Everyone who works on the soap was determined that ‘Neighbors’ would end on a real high point, and when they approached Margot, she immediately said ‘yes’.” It was clear to everyone that the Hollywood star would be there for the finale, “because she always loved talking about her time on the series.”

Unfortunately, she was unable to come to Australia to film. “But she recorded a special clip that will be shown in the grand finale,” the insider explained. According to the report, Robbie sent 37 bottles of champagne to the set – one for each year the series aired.

In addition to Robbie, Kylie Minogue (54) and Jason Donovan (54) will also be seen. The two return as Charlene Mitchell and Scott Robinson for the finale of the cult soap opera.

These stars started their careers on “Neighbours”.

The Australian soap Neighbors, which first aired in 1985, follows the lives of people who live and work in the fictional Melbourne suburb of Erinsborough. Some stars started their acting careers with the series: In addition to Margot Robbie, Russell Crowe (58), Natalie Imbruglia (47) and Liam Hemsworth (32) were also seen.

The end was announced in March 2022. On July 29, “Neighbors” will come to an end after around 37 years with a double-episode special.
