Many clues to 39-year-old murder case – Bavaria

After the television investigation into the murder of a teenager from Donauwörth almost 39 years ago, the police received numerous tips from viewers. “We expected a lot of tips, we received an unexpectedly high number of tips,” said the head of the Dillingen criminal police, Michael Lechner, on Thursday. The violent crime against the 15-year-old high school student Simone Langer in the summer of 1983 was presented on Wednesday evening on the ZDF program “Aktenzeichen XY… unsolved”. Lechner explained that 27 viewers reported information to the police in Dillingen during and shortly after the show. Further calls were received on Thursday, and there were also many calls in the broadcasting studio.

The 15-year-old was attacked shortly after midnight on July 29, 1983 on the outskirts of Donauwörth as she was cycling home from a friend. The police are looking for a pickup truck into which the girl is said to have been dragged. The student’s body was discovered two months later about 80 kilometers away in a forest near Allersberg in Central Franconia (Roth district) on the A9 motorway (Munich-Nuremberg).
