A 34-year-old is said to have abused at least eleven girls in several federal states. He is said to have contacted them via the Internet. The investigations are far from over.

In their investigations into a suspected sex offender, the police quickly succeeded in finding a manhunt. On Wednesday evening, she called on the population to help find the previously unidentified man who is said to have abused girls – the arrest took place on Thursday afternoon. “The accused is a 34-year-old man who has not yet appeared in the police force,” said the Hessian State Criminal Police Office (LKA) in Wiesbaden, the Marburg public prosecutor’s office and the police headquarters in central and northern Hesse.

According to the investigators, more than a dozen tips were received after the call, which also published photos of the man. Three clues were so specific that they led directly to the man. His apartment was searched by police officers and he is due to be brought before a magistrate on Friday.

The police assume that he abused at least eleven girls between the ages of 11 and 15 from the Schwalm-Eder district, the Marburg-Biedenkopf district, Wiesbaden, North Rhine-Westphalia and Saarland. The investigation is being carried out on suspicion of serious sexual abuse of children and young people.

The suspect is said to have contacted the girls via an Internet platform and exchanged “sexual content” with them. Sometimes he also met with them and “performed sexual acts with the girls in return for donations”. The police initially did not provide more specific information. The man is also being investigated for allegedly possessing child pornography.
