Man suspected of opening SPA boxes and stealing cats arrested

Several dozen open boxes and animals lost in the wild. This is the spectacle of desolation discovered early Monday morning by volunteers from the shelter of the Society for the Protection of Animals (SPA) in Rennes, as revealed by France Bleu Armorique. Quite quickly, almost all of the residents were found except for three cats who were missing. A police investigation was immediately opened to identify the perpetrator(s).

According to our information, a suspect was arrested late Monday morning in Saint-Malo. He is a 57-year-old homeless man who had just been arrested for the theft of an electronic cigarette. The man being in possession of several cats, the Saint-Malo police officers then made the link with the facts committed during the night of Sunday to Monday at the SPA in Rennes. Placed in police custody, the 50-year-old admitted all the facts. He will be summoned to court in October.
