In Milbertshofen, a man was seriously injured by gunshots on Monday afternoon and subsequently died of his injuries in hospital. This was confirmed by a police spokeswoman of the South German Newspaper on Monday evening. The man was found on Schmalkaldener Strasse near the Frankfurter Ring subway station. The police, supported by helicopters, launched a large-scale manhunt for the perpetrator, who initially managed to escape undetected.
It is possible that the perpetrator fled the crime scene near the Frankfurter Ring subway station in a dark-colored car. According to information from the Bild newspaper and the dpa news agency, an argument between two people had broken out before the shooting. The police cordoned off the street where the crime took place and searched the neighboring apartment buildings. Some residents were therefore denied access to their apartments. The police announced on the X platform that there was no danger to the public.
