A man fell into an overgrown pond in a park in Lindau on Lake Constance after mistaking it for walkable ground. The surface of the pond was covered with so-called duckweed, the police said on Monday. The 82-year-old assumed that the incident on Sunday was a concrete surface and that he could walk over it. He fell into the pond. He suffered mild hypothermia. The pond was cordoned off by the police to prevent further involuntary bathing activities.
