Man changes – Bavaria

Even columnists have little secrets. For example, it’s not at all true that we spend weeks fiddling with tricky formulations. It’s more like saying to yourself, “Oops, is it my turn again?” In recent years, when looking for a topic, it often helped a lot to take a look: what did Andi Scheuer say, what did Hubert Aiwanger say and what did the current CSU general secretary say? All we know now about the Aiwanger is that he was in the Einhellig café in Hengersberg on Wednesday morning. Andi Scheuer protested this week that he had not told an untruth in the committee of inquiry into the toll, and Secretary General Stephan Mayer… “Objection!” , the editors report, “we’ve really dealt with the topic exhaustively this week!”

You have to admit that. On the other hand, it would have been tempting to think a little about why having an extramarital child is apparently considered good manners by senior CSU politicians, but the facts themselves are still considered a scandal. Contradictions of this kind are of course always an advantage when it comes to comedy. But you shouldn’t overdo it and drift completely into the absurd, at least not in the newspaper. For example, if you had come up with the idea in January, a representative of the green fundis, let’s say: Anton Hofreiter, would demand the delivery of heavy weapons to war zones and would also know the exact names of the types of weapons including inventory numbers, just like in the days of conscription such an annoying nerd who has just started his basic military service – everyone would have given you a fuck. A bit of reality, it would have been said, should still have such a gloss. After all, the Greens are pacifists.

It’s true. But you have to look at things carefully. Then, for example, you can see right away that it was of course the powerful Bavarian SPD that is to blame for Bavaria’s heavy dependence on Russian gas. Who else? And in reality the Socialists probably also engineered this Sputnik vaccine production in Illertissen. But if it should have been different: Hardly anyone knows that anymore, and fortunately people are adaptable. With Horst Seehofer and Markus Söder, it is said that this should even be genetic.
