Man arrested for placing a GPS tracker in his ex’s car

He couldn’t stand his ex-girlfriend leaving him and wanted revenge. A 52-year-old man, unknown to the courts, was arrested and placed in police custody on Monday at the gendarmerie in Guilers, a neighboring town of Brest (Finistère). The individual is accused of having harassed his former companion and of having invaded his private life, we learned from the prosecution. In front of the investigators, the latter had indeed indicated that she felt followed by her former companion. The expertise of his vehicle had confirmed the thing with the discovery in the right rear fender of his car of a GPS tag which was hidden in clothes belonging to his ex.

At the end of his police custody, the 50-year-old was brought before the prosecutor’s delegate as part of a criminal composition. He is now prohibited from coming into contact with the victim for six months and will have to follow a course in the prevention and fight against violence within the couple.
