Customers of the Internet provider Vodafone have been struggling with major disruptions since Monday afternoon. Complaints about TV and landline cable as well as landline DSL are piling up all over Germany. The users complain about the failure of many functions.

Nationwide disruptions to Vodafone customers

Since noon today, the website “alle disturbances.de” has shown an extremely high increase in reports on TV, landline and DSL. In the meantime Vodafone seems to have gotten the problem under control again. While at 1 p.m. there were still almost 29,000 reports, there are currently not even 2000. According to the report, most of the problems occurred with the fixed network cable. 67 percent complain about disruptions here. 26 percent had problems with the fixed network DSL. Only seven percent experience disruptions in the mobile Internet.

The disturbances occur throughout Germany. particularly common in the cities of Berlin, Stuttgart, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Leipzig, Cologne, Munich and Essen. A Vodafone spokesman confirmed to the online magazine “Netzwelt” that between 11.45 a.m. and 2.20 p.m. a low six-digit number of customers could not make any landline calls and surfing the Internet was only possible with poor quality. An error would have been detected in a central network element that controls Internet traffic in the cable network. The disruption has since been fully resolved.
