Majestic, peaceful or ugly… How do you judge the landscapes around your home?

It presents itself as “the first regional survey of landscapes in France”. Initiated by the Observatory of the environment in Brittany (OEB), this campaign aims to know the feelings of Bretons and Bretons on their close environment. In the form of an online questionnaire, residents can assess the quality of landscapes located less than a kilometer from their homes. Majestic, peaceful, stressful, noisy or even ugly? Your turn to judge.

Started at the end of December, this online survey continues until the end of February. An action which aims “to put words on the landscapes that we encounter every day, to collect answers in the experience of each person living or having lived in Brittany”, explains the EPO. Sample questions? “What vegetation are you most in contact with less than 1 km from your home? ” Or. “During your home-to-work journey, do you observe the surrounding landscape? “.

Often acclaimed for the beauty of its landscapes, the region is not limited to the pink hues of its granite coast, the green of the Monts d’Arrée or the blue of the waters of its secret creeks. Here, as elsewhere, there are degraded, polluted and urbanized environments that no one is proud of. This is what the organization intends to question, hoping to identify “the most fragile sites” or even “the dynamics that degrade the landscape the most”.

Once processed, the data will be made available to Internet users on the EPO website, an organization administered by the State, the region and the communities. They could also feed the future territorial coherence schemes (Scot) of the municipalities of the region. And thus feed the collective reflection around public facilities.
