Mainburg: 30 meter high crane falls on company premises – Bavaria

A construction crane fell on two industrial buildings in Lower Bavaria and caused damage in the mid-single-digit million range. The police said no people were injured in the incident on Sunday in Mainburg (Kelheim district).

The buildings and a photovoltaic system on the roof were badly damaged. According to the information, short circuits and the development of smoke occurred. However, a fire could have been prevented.

It was initially unclear why the approximately 30 meter high construction crane had fallen over. According to initial findings, a “subsidence” could be a possible cause.

According to the police, the construction crane had been there for a few weeks to work on the roof. It was completely destroyed and a structural engineer was consulted to check the two buildings.
