Aggressive hornets attacked several people on the Main Cycle Route in Lower Franconia. A woman who ran with her stroller from Mainaschaff to Aschaffenburg was stabbed several times, the police announced on Sunday. The affected section of the Main Cycle Path was initially cordoned off on Saturday.
After an emergency medical examination on site, the woman was brought to the Aschaffenburg Clinic for observation. The toddler was unharmed. Six other injured were examined by rescue workers but did not have to go to hospital. A beekeeper and a specialist company vacuumed the swarm of hornets with a technical device and relocated them. The road block could be lifted after about two hours.
