At the weekend he won the Nations League with France, but now Lucas Hernández has serious problems. The Bayern star has been asked by the Spanish judiciary to begin a prison sentence in the coming days.

The Spanish judiciary is obviously serious. Lucas Hernández, known to be a defender of FC Bayern and the French national team, is due to appear before the Madrid Criminal Court 32 next Tuesday, September 19 at 11 o’clock, “in order to be summoned in person so that he can voluntarily join a Prison of his choice. ” This is what a court order that was served on the Bayern professional in writing and reported on by the spot newspapers “As” (Spain) and “L’Équipe” (France). The offense of which Hernandez is said to have been guilty is also named in the letter: “Violation of a judgment or an injunction”. For this, Hernández is supposed to be jailed for six months.

But what exactly is behind the accusation of the Spanish judiciary? It is apparently about a violent argument that Hernández had in February 2017 on the street with his then partner and later wife. It should also have come to fights on the part of the soccer world champion, who is also said to have been drunk. In any case, a criminal court in Madrid issued a ban on approach and contact, which is apparently still valid today.

Luca Hernández: No contact with his wife in force

Because Hernández and his wife have in the meantime reconciled and even married, but that does not change the legal situation. In Spain, contact blocks apparently also apply in the event of reconciliation. The reason: The aim is to prevent those affected by domestic violence from consenting to a reconciliation under pressure. With the vacation that the couple spent together a few months after the incident, the Bayern star therefore violated the judicial ban on contact. The result: Hernández was briefly arrested at Madrid airport after returning from the trip, but was shortly afterwards again at large. But that was not the end of the matter; In 2019, the soccer star was convicted of violating the ban on approach and contact.

So now the judiciary in Madrid is calling for the prison system to be implemented. Hernandez could be missing for Bayern in the Champions League game at Benfica next Wednesday. According to information from Bayerischer Rundfunk, the Frenchman’s lawyers have appealed against the enforcement order. They want to achieve that the prison sentence is suspended and converted into a fine. In the first instance, however, this attempt is said to have already failed.
