LREM invests 263 new candidates including ex-LR Robin Reda

The presidential majority unveiled on Saturday the names of 263 new candidates for the June legislative elections, including Robin Reda who left LR to join the macronie and ten members of the current government.

Close to Valérie Pécresse, Robin Reda will wear the colors of the majority in the seventh constituency of Essonne. “This confidence honors me”, he explained on Twitter, specifying that he wanted to “make the voice of an elected official heard, capable of participating in the recovery of the country with responsibility”.

“It’s his decision … he will no longer be LR”, reacted the boss of LR Christian Jacob, during the National Council of the party gathered to officially launch the legislative campaign and whose objective is precisely to deter any temptation to rally to Emmanuel Macron. Also note that Marine Brenier, who left LR last week, is invested in the Alpes-Maritimes.

Marc Fesneau, Franck Riester, Olivia Gregoire…

Among the new names, which bring to 450 the number of candidates already invested by the majority, are those of ten ministers, who are added to ten others invested on Thursday, including Olivier Véran who is representing himself in his constituency of Isère.

The other members of the government in the running are Marc Fesneau (Loir-et-Cher), Bérangère Abba (Haute-Marne) Brigitte Bourguignon (Pas-de-Calais), Franck Riester (Seine-et-Marne), Geneviève Darrieussecq (Landes) , Joël Giraud (Hautes-Alpes), Olivia Grégoire (Paris) Nadia Hai (Yvelines) and Sarah El Haïry (Loire-Atlantique). On the other hand, Agnès Pannier-Runacher finally gave up presenting herself in Pas-de-Calais.

Among those invested are the leaders of La République en Marche (LREM), which is now called Renaissance, including its boss Stanislas Guerini (Paris) and that of the LREM deputies Christophe Castaner (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence).

Many relatives of Emmanuel Macron will also run for a constituency, such as the mayor of Poissy (Yvelines), collaborator David Amiel (Paris), Karl Olive, political adviser Jérôme Peyrat (Dordogne), Thierry Solère (Hauts-de -Seine) or even Marc Ferracci, in the 6th district of French people living abroad.

The last list of invested candidates unveiled by Tuesday

Relatives of former Prime Minister Edouard Philippe, who launched his Horizons movement, are also among the candidates, such as the ex-LR mayor of Ajaccio Laurent Marcangeli who is running in Corsica and that of Fontainebleau Frédéric Valletoux (Seine-et- Marine). It should also be noted that the boss of MoDem deputies Patrick Mignola is representing himself in Savoie.

In Savoie, Arthur Empereur, an employee of Jean Castex at Matignon, is also in the running. In the Bas-Rhin, Charles Sitzenstuhl, close to the Minister of Finance Bruno Le Maire, will run for a first term. Among the outgoing deputies of the majority, 12 were not reinvested, including Claire O’Petit in Eure. The last list of candidates invested by the presidential majority must be unveiled by Tuesday.
