He dreamed of getting engaged in Paris – and she said yes: Mod Sun and Avril Lavigne are getting married.
Canadian singer Avril Lavigne (37, “Complicated”) has announced her engagement to US rapper and punk rocker Mod Sun (35). Lavigne posted several photos on Instagram showing the couple in Paris.
Mod Sun, real name Dylan Smith, proposes to her with a heart-shaped ring on his knees. She will love him forever, Lavigne captioned the photos. She names March 27 as the date for the engagement.
Mod Sun also published several recordings on Instagram. He wrote that he dreamed of getting engaged in Paris. From the moment they first met, he knew that Lavigne was the woman for him. The musicians met in 2021 while recording songs together.
The Canadian singer has had two marriages. She was married to Canadian musician Deryck Whibley from 2006 to 2010. Lavigne split from Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger in 2015 after two years of marriage.
Lavigne shot to fame in 2002 with the album Let Go. So far she has released seven studio albums, worked as an actress and created her own fashion line. Because of a severe Lyme disease, she temporarily withdrew from the public in 2014.
