The German comedy show “LOL: Last One Laughing” on Amazon went empty-handed at the International Emmys.

The German version of the comedy show “LOL: Last One Laughing” has the International Emmy lost. The Constantin Entertainment production with Michael “Bully” Herbig (54) went empty-handed. Instead, the Australian reality format “Love on the Spectrum” won the award in the “Non-scripted Entertainment” category. The show is about people with autism who are accompanied as they explore the dating world.

For the 50th anniversary of the awards, “LOL” was not nominated in the comedy category. This is intended exclusively for fictional productions. The British Netflix series “Sex Education” won there. The streaming service creamed other International Emmys with the South Korean telenovela “Yeonmo”.

Many award winners from Great Britain

British productions in particular were successful with seven awards. The prize for the best drama series went to the BBC thriller series “Vigil”. In addition, “Help” won in the category “TV Movie / Mini Series” and “Shaun the Sheep – A Sheep Has Come” for best children’s animated series. The Sky production “Queen of Speed” was honored as the best sports documentary. British actor Dougray Scott (56) received the International Emmy for his role in the ITV series “Irvine Welsh’s Crime”.

A Prime Video production also appeared on the list of award winners: French actress Lou de Laâge (32) won best actress for the role of Eugénie Cléry in the feature film “The Dancers”.
