Firefighters have recovered a 62-year-old man’s body from the Main River in Lower Franconia after a fishing trip. Police said there were no indications of a violent crime. Investigators are currently assuming it was an accident.
The 62-year-old had not returned from a fishing trip to the river on Thursday, which is why his son called the police. The emergency services found the man’s equipment on the bank, and the police then began a major search along the river. A short time later, the fire brigade recovered the 62-year-old dead from the river near Lohr am Main (Main-Spessart district). The Würzburg Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the exact circumstances of his death.
