In a letter to Economics Minister Peter Altmaier (CDU), the logistics industry warned of an “impending supply collapse” in view of the AdBlue shortage. A nationwide bottleneck would have “dramatic consequences for around 90 percent of truck traffic in Germany, but also for buses that rely on AdBlue,” the letter said. “The vehicles would in fact have to come to a standstill, as they can no longer be operated without Ad Blue.” At the beginning of 2020, AdBlue still cost 19 cents per liter, now it’s 69 cents.
