Local politics in the district of Ebersberg: Günter Scherzl becomes district councillor. – Ebersberg

The district council seat, which became vacant due to the unexpected death of the Free Voters district chairman Wilfried Seidelmann, goes to Poing. The successor is the Poinger FWG chairman Günter Scherzl. According to the district office, the insurance specialist, who was born in 1968, will be sworn in at the next meeting of the district council on October 24th.

Scherzl has been politically active since the local elections in 2008, when he applied for a seat in the Poing municipal council. There wasn’t one at first, but when Jörg Höllrigl gave up his seat for health reasons in 2010, Scherzl succeeded him for the first time and has been a member of the committee ever since. Between 2017 and 2020 he was also third mayor of the municipality of Poing. Günter Scherzl has also been the local chairman of the FWG for five years. He ran for this in 2020 as a candidate for mayor – after all, a good quarter of Poinger gave him their vote. In addition to his work as a municipal councilor, Scherzl is known in Poing as a musician; he is in the local music band and in the cover band, among other things Zebob4.

The successor to Seidelmann as parliamentary group and district chairman is still open among the Free Voters. As the deputy district chairman Thomas Humidifier reports, there is still no date for a board election, and a new group spokesman in the district council has not yet been decided.
