Liverpool FC and Real Madrid deny a bid has been made for Fede Valverde.
Both Real Madrid and Liverpool have denied suggestions that the Reds made an XXL offer for Federico Valverde on Deadline Day.
90 mins revealed in the final week of the transfer window that Liverpool had changed their stance on a new midfielder and wanted to sign one before the deadline. The scouts were pushing for a transfer of Konrad Laimer or Ruben Neves but Jurgen Klopp opted for Arthur Melo on loan from Juventus.
The Spanish media recently claimed that Liverpool also had their sights set on another player: Loud AS The Reds are said to have made an offer of over €90m for Fede Valverde.
As 90 mins learned from circles of both clubs, this was not the case. However, it has not been denied that Liverpool have long been interested in the 24-year-old.
It is believed that the talks were only between the sides’ agents to see if a deal could be struck – but there was no contact with the two clubs or the player himself.
Valverde, who is under contract at Real until 2027, is seen as a key figure and future of the club not only by coach Carlo Ancelotti but also by the club’s management. Real also don’t have to worry about losing Valverde to a club that pays his release clause, which currently stands at €1bn.
