A corona outbreak at Liverpool FC causes the game to be postponed. According to Jürgen Klopp, many players were tested false positive.

Liverpool FC coach Jürgen Klopp has revealed that a large part of his squad has falsely tested positive for the corona virus in the past week.

“We had a major corona outbreak last week. But it has now been shown that we had a lot of false positive results,” said Klopp at the press conference after the 4-1 win over Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup.

Klopp: Correct result only with Alexander-Arnold

The 54-year-old admitted: “But the rules are the way they are. All these players who are false positives weren’t allowed to play even though they didn’t have a Corona.” Only Trent Alexander-Arnold would have had a correct positive result. “All the others were false positive results,” said Klopp.

The Reds had reported numerous corona cases in the past week. Klopp and his assistant Pep Lijnders were also positive.

Liverpool FC: First leg against Arsenal on January 13th

As a result, the League Cup semi-final against Arsenal, which should have taken place last Thursday, was canceled and postponed. The training center was also closed after consultation with the authorities. The first leg against the Gunners will now rise on January 13, the second leg seven days later in London.
