“Our prudence will save the holidays,” assured Gabriel Attal, the government spokesman, on France Inter. “We will be able to get through the holidays, to spend Christmas together, because we have been extremely vigilant in recent weeks and we will continue to be,” he said.
Will Christmas be able to take place without a gauge? “This is our course, our goal,” he said, since no gauge has yet been announced. “What we want is that the French can spend Christmas with their family, together,” he continued.
“We are doing everything to avoid returning to measures of gauge, closure, confinement, curfew,” said Gabriel Attal, ensuring that “the efforts, vigilance, barrier gestures, vaccination, that pay”. “If we did not have all that today (…) probably we would have a health tsunami when we see the incidence rate and the circulation of the virus in our country”, he added.
The spokesperson was also pleased to see the recall campaign “progressing a lot”, placing France “in the leading pack at European level”.
