Lisa Marie Presley and her secret love life with Michael Jackson

In the book “From Here into the Unknown,” Lisa Marie Presley tells us frankly about her childhood in Graceland and her marriage to Michael Jackson. Read an exclusive chapter here.

Lisa Marie Presley, who died unexpectedly in January 2023, had been working on an autobiography before her death. Her daughter Riley Keough has now completed the work entitled “From Here into the Unknown” and brought it to market. Presley was married to Michael Jackson from 1994 to 1996. In the book, she gives insights into the intense and complicated relationship in the spotlight. The following lines are the entire chapter five of the book, “Mimi.” The italicized passages were added by daughter Keough.

I was just a little girl when I met Michael Jackson in Las Vegas. I think I was about six years old. My dad was playing at the Hilton and The Jackson 5 was playing somewhere nearby. Michael later recalled that I came backstage and met everyone for the first time. I don’t remember it at all.

When I was a teenager – I must have been about fifteen or sixteen – Michael called my mom to take her out to dinner. When I found out he had called, I said, “Mom, what the hell are you doing? Why is Michael Jackson calling you?” I later learned that he was hoping I would accompany my mom to the appointment. But he didn’t say it that clearly because he didn’t want to come across as weird.

A few years later, when I was working for Jerry Schilling and helping him manage Jerry Lee Lewis, Michael tried to contact me through businessman John Branca. He took care of Elvis’ estate and also helped Michael buy the Beatles’ complete works. But at the time I was about to marry Danny, so nothing came of it. After marrying Danny, I was on the cover of People magazine and Michael later told me he was devastated about it. He thought he should be with me instead of Danny.

I had no idea about any of this.

The first time I actually remember meeting Michael was in 1993, right after his famous Super Bowl halftime performance and his interview with Oprah. He and I met thanks to a mutual friend. I had sung a demo tape – Michael said he had listened to it and wanted to meet with me about it. At first I didn’t want to. I had no desire to become someone else’s project. Prince had tried that too, and while I respected their work, I wanted my own thing.

Nevertheless, I went on the date with Michael.
