Sweet birthday lines for dad Phil Collins

“Emily in Paris” star Lily Collins congratulates her father, Genesis frontman Phil Collins, on his 71st birthday with loving lines.
British actress Lily Collins (32) has given her famous father, Genesis frontman Phil Collins, via Instagram publicly congratulated on his 71st birthday. And the “Emily in Paris” star could hardly have found more loving words for the privately battered former superstar. To a photo in which she is sitting on his shoulders in infancy, she writes:
“Happy Birthday Dad. I may not fit in your arms or sit comfortably on your shoulders anymore, but you still give me a big hug when I need it most.” And she adds: “You may not always realize it, but please believe me when I say that no matter how old I am or what life brings, I will always need you.”
Little time together, but…
The public letter continued: “We may not spend time together that often, but when we face each other you really see me,” Lily Collins said. “I’m always grateful for the moments and memories they share, whether it’s proudly watching you on stage or laughing with you at home playing Trivial Pursuit.”
She ends her post with a big thank you: “Thank you for inspiring me and supporting me to be the woman I am today. I love you to the moon and back…” said Lily Collins, of Phil Collins’ second marriage (1984-1996) to the American Jill Tavelman (65).
