After the traditional multiplex and before the clash between OGC Nice and Olympique Lyonnais, the third day of Ligue 1 continued, this Sunday at 5:05 p.m., with a very promising poster between Lille, eighth, and Lorient, thirteenth. At the Stade du Moustoir, the Hakes – hooked during their first two outings – were logically aiming for a first success. A task that promised to be delicate despite everything against Lille who remained on a victory snatched against Rijeka during the first leg of the Europa League Conference. For this meeting and after a draw conceded in Nice then a success acquired against Nantes, Paulo Fonseca opted for a 4-2-3-1 with Jonathan David, established on the front of the attack.

Lorient has fun in the Lille defense
Just before the hour mark, the newcomer Gomes sent David deep and the Canadian international adjusted Mvogo with his left foot (2-1, 56th). Aware of the danger, Régis Le Bris brought in new blood and the choice of the Lorient tactician quickly paid off… Launched into the back of the Lille defense by Abergel, Faivre deceived the Les Merlus goalkeeper with a superb left foot lob (3 -1, 62nd). A duel that even turned into a fiasco for the Northerners. Once again surprised by FCL, the rearguard of LOSC saw Le Bris’ attempt repelled but Le Goff, well placed, allowed his team to take off (4-1, 68th).
In great difficulty, Lille even avoided sinking a few moments later. Once again left in the back of the defense, Kroupi adjusted Chevalier but was finally flagged offside (74th). Solid collectively, the Lorient formation fairly serenely retained their advantage on the scoreboard at the end of the game. With this great victory (4-1), Lorient moved up to 7th place while Lille fell to 10th place. On the next day, the Mastiffs will host Montpellier. For its part, the Lorient team will challenge the promoted Le Havre.
